Project Merry Christmas up date: December 26, 2008

Wow, what an undertaking Project Merry Christmas was this year! We blessed 350 children, youth, and adults with Christmas gifts. We went to 5 churches and put on a special program for Christmas and we sent toys to a 6th. We played games, sang songs, gave away lots of prizes. A clown to made things fun, and had a great puppet show(put on by Kenny and his friends, Christian, Eddy and Cesar), plus a great lunch. All who attended received a stuffed animal and a gift. Kids went home with their arms full of prizes, candy and gifts. It was so awesome. Everyone had such a wonderful time those who worked and those who attended.

We also had enough extra toys we were able to give gifts to 10 other families who live close to us.

The provision of God is truly awesome and wonderful. He proves himself faithful every time.

We just want to thank you for all your help and support in this endeavor, without you we could not have done all we were able to do. You’re such a big part of what we do here and we just want you to know we appreciate you and all you do to help us. Please be blessed with the knowledge that you helped to make Christmas for 350 others a blessed event and just simply said, made a lot of children, youth, and parents very happy.

With Special thanks to;

Another Barnet update: Dec.19, 2008

Well, our mechanic came and gave the motor a good look over and discovered the block is indeed destroyed. The radiator has emptied out into the engine. There is no repairing her or fixing her up. But still we are choosing to rejoice as we do have the car whole and all the wheels still attached after spending a night in a bad, very bad area in fact where nothing left on the side of the road is still there a few hours later let alone a day later. God is indeed good and it is a miracle we have the car at all. We appreciate your prayer and thoughts. Please continue to pray for us as we are now in more difficult position to get around for the Holidays and the programs we must complete. We do know God will make a way where there seems to be none, as this is his specialty.

We love and appreciate you and wish you the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of New Years.

His servants and yours, The Barnets, Scott, Jeanine, Annalyn and Kenny

Barnet car update: 12-18-08

Well after about 2 hours of wading in knee high disgusting water Scott got the car pushed to higher ground where it is not under water. We had to leave it in a very dangerous spot over night. Scott took today off and we are headed to find a tow truck and get the car towed home where it will be at least safe and protected. Then we will work on the fixing it and the transportation problem. Please continue to pray for us in this time at Christmas of all times of course I should of expected it with all the other wonderful and awesome things God is doing..

The devil is mad and I am loving it!! We are going for the gold here and God is our prize..

Let you all know what happens today. Love you and thanks for your prayers.

God bless you and keep,

Jeanine

Testimony‏ 12-06-08

Hello,
I just got to share a testimony with you. It has taken place over the last couple of days.. It just shows how big God is and how we should never forget it..
It started out on Tuesday; Kenny and I were in Wendy's to grab a quick cheap bite, when two older ladies came in not ancient by any means just a bit older them me. Anyway they took hands and prayed over there food before they ate. Now as they were sitting so close to us we over heard the prayer and it was truly beautiful..
As we were leaving I could not let the opportunity pass to share a say hello to my fellow Sister.. So I just stopped and spoke with them.. Now as I was speaking with them the presence of the Lord was so precious we all teared up a bit and I ended up sharing our story a bit about what we do here in Mexico..
Now of course I have been sweating the finances a bit and worrying if I will have enough for Project Merry Christmas.. But of course I said nothing of this to them.. But at the end of our meeting One of the precious Sister who I now know as Alice, hands me a check for $50.00. I could not believe it, I was truly stunned.

Now then yesterday I had contractors bring me a bid for the church roof and materials. The men who made the bid are the brothers of my Land Lord and I know they do good work as they are the ones who built my house and do the repair work. I do not know what ever gave me or should I say (who) ever gave me the idea to ask them but I did. Well the bid they gave us they including all labor, was maybe a 100 or 200 less then what we have in the bank
They told us, that normally they charge the same amount for the labor as they price for all the materials. One of the brothers going to (I hope to God) do this work for a contractor S.D. He is a good worker and knows what he is doing.. Anyway the bid for all the materials and such will be about$ 2000.00 but they told us they are going to do the work for less then half price since it is for a church and they are both working at present for the Holidays.. Unbelievable again.. (Again God telling me It will be there.. )
Now, later just an hour later or so Scott and I are out buying water and doing errands. We were talking about our puppet program for Project Merry Christmas and I was telling him we would have to wait to build a puppet stage as we do not have the money for the materials to build it. So for another year it will have to be a curtain held up by a couple of people.. This will just have to do.. But next year we will get it done..
Anyway, we are buying the water and as I am leaving this idea that could only come from God hits me.. I ask the owner if he had some old PVC piping laying around he may not want anymore that he would like to give me..
He gets this funny look on his face and asks me why and so I explain about Project Merry Christmas and needing to build a stage and not having the money to buy the PVC and such. He said , as a matter of fact I have a lot of it.. Thus he gives it all to us and it is truly more then I need...
Then as if that was not enough to make me relax and trust God; when I was cooking dinner one of my neighbors was outside my gate calling me. I went to go see what she needed and she said I have something for you.. As she held up a 3 lb. Lobster alive and looking totally wonderful. She said to me a man she works for brought home about 12 of these today and gave her one; which she thought I might like.. I do, I most certainly do, as I love lobster.. I tried to see if she wanted me to cook it for her or share it with her but she said no. She wanted me to have it..
Un- real!
Well you can guess what I did, I cooked it up and we all three had it for dinner.. The tail alone was at least 1lb. Man it was the best lobster I had had in a long time.. I can not believe we dined on lobster last night and we even had some left over..
Now that you would think would be enough but no, it continues. I called last night one of the man who put in the bid to see if he would come and help me build the puppet stage and this morning all three showed up to work for me.. Well I explained I could not pay all three and it was just for a couple hours of work really that was all and I explained what I wanted done...
They asked me for coffee and I gave them coffee and donuts which I had bought yesterday for some reason and we had not touched them after the lobster of coarse.. Well they are all building me my puppet stage free.. I can not believe all God is doing.. I am so excited and worked up I just had to share this with you.. I think I will pass it on to a few others as well.. God is so truly awesome and good.. So much more so then we give him credit for or trust him for.. I am blessed and so thrilled to call him Father,,
Well I love you so much and am thankful for you in our lives and ministry too..
God bless you and keep you and always cause you to hunger for more,
Jeanine
